Pay per delivery or buy a pass?
Without a pass you pay a charge on each order, which can vary by slot and basket size. With a pass you pay a fixed amount and covered deliveries cost nothing extra — as long as you meet any minimum spend and book an eligible day or time.

Things to check before you buy
- Eligible days: midweek passes only cover certain days; Tesco Off Peak only covers slots after 3pm.
- Minimum spend: Sainsbury’s needs £50 and Morrisons £25 for free pass deliveries.
- Subscription and renewal: monthly plans may run for a fixed term; read the renewal and cancellation terms.
- Exclusions: rapid services such as Morrisons Now and Tesco Whoosh aren’t covered.
- Postcode and slots: a pass doesn’t guarantee a slot. Check availability at your address first.
How to decide
Count how many deliveries you placed in the last three months and what you paid. If that adds up to more than the pass for the same period — and you can book eligible slots — a pass may help. Otherwise, keep paying per order or use click and collect. For saving on the shop itself, see our supermarket shopping guide and the grocery calculators on the Save Money hub.
