This policy explains how CompareDirect ("we", "us") handles personal data when you use this website. We follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

CompareDirect is a trading name of Click Media Limited (company number 07419979), registered in England and Wales at 124 City Road, London, EC1. Click Media Limited is the data controller for this website. Contact: hello@clickmediauk.com. Our registration with the Information Commissioner's Office is being completed.

What we collect

• Click records – when you press "Get Deal" or "Get Quote" we record which deal was clicked, the time, the page you came from and your browser type. We do not store your name or contact details for this.
• AI adviser questions – text you type into the adviser is sent to our AI provider to produce suggestions. Please don't include personal details. We do not keep these questions.
• Cookie choices – stored in your browser so we remember your preference.
• Admin accounts – email address and login data for site administrators only.
• Contact enquiries – your name, email address, subject and message are stored securely and are accessible only to authorised administrators so we can respond. When email notifications are enabled, a copy is sent to our contact mailbox.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

• Running and improving the site and measuring which deals are useful – legitimate interests.
• Responding to contact enquiries – legitimate interests in answering questions and handling requests.
• Optional analytics cookies – your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Meeting legal obligations – legal obligation.

Sharing

We use trusted service providers for hosting, database and AI processing. When you follow a link to a provider, you leave our site and that provider's own privacy policy applies. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

Click records are kept for up to 24 months for reporting, then deleted or anonymised. Admin account data is kept while the account is active.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, or ask for data portability. Email us and we will reply within one month.
