Apple phones: customer service, repairs and faults
Last updated: 22 October 2026

Apple designs the iPhone, which runs Apple's own iOS software. iPhones are sold by every major UK network and by Apple directly.

These are the contact routes Apple publishes. Numbers starting 03 cost the same as a normal landline call and are usually included in phone plan minutes; 0800 and 0808 numbers are free. Check Apple's website for opening hours.
How to get a Apple phone repaired

Book a repair online, at an Apple Store Genius Bar, through an Apple Authorised Service Provider, or by mail-in. AppleCare+ reduces repair costs.
- Back up your phone and note your model and IMEI number (dial *#06#).
- Check your warranty status on Apple's support site.
- Describe the fault and choose walk-in, collection or mail-in where offered.
- Remove your SIM card and any case before handing the phone over.
Faulty phone? Your rights

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a phone must be of satisfactory quality and last a reasonable time. Your rights are against the shop or network you bought it from, not only the manufacturer:
- Within 30 days: you can reject a faulty phone for a full refund.
- Within 6 months: the seller must repair or replace it, and it's assumed the fault was there from the start unless they prove otherwise.
- After 6 months: you can still claim, but you may need to show the fault was there when you bought it.
If you bought on a contract, contact your network too — they may arrange the repair. Accidental damage like a dropped screen isn't a fault, so check any insurance or care plan you have. See Citizens Advice for more.
