The total cost is the number that matters
A Galaxy deal with a low monthly figure and a 36 or 48-month device plan can cost more overall than one with a higher monthly figure over a shorter term. Add the upfront cost to the handset and airtime instalments and compare the totals — our table does exactly that.
Samsung also runs trade-in and cashback offers on outright purchases, which can beat a contract. Price both routes before you sign.
Picking the right Galaxy
The Ultra adds the stylus, the best zoom camera and the largest battery; the plain S model covers most people at a much lower total. Older flagships such as the previous generation keep years of software updates left and cost far less.
Check storage and whether the model supports the charging speed and features you actually use — a saving on paper is only real if you keep the phone for several years.
Contract terms worth checking
Handset finance and airtime are usually separate agreements, so your bill should fall once the device plan ends. Ask for the total payable and the early-termination figure, and look for any mid-contract rise shown in pounds and pence.

Frequently asked questions
Which Samsung Galaxy is best value on contract?
Compare the totals in the table above rather than the monthly price. In our snapshot the previous-generation flagship often lands far below the newest Ultra across the agreement.
Is it cheaper to buy a Galaxy outright?
Often yes, especially with a trade-in or cashback offer. Add a cheap SIM only plan and the outright route frequently costs less over two years.
How long do Samsung phones get updates?
Recent Galaxy flagships are promised several years of OS and security updates, which is a real reason to buy an older flagship instead of the latest model.
Can I upgrade before the contract ends?
Usually only by paying the remaining device balance, or through a network's specific upgrade scheme. Check the terms before signing.
Do Galaxy contracts include a charger?
Most recent Samsung phones ship without a charger in the box, so budget for one if you do not already have a compatible USB-C charger.
