Work out the total before the monthly price

Two Pixels can look similar each month and differ by hundreds of pounds over the agreement, because the device plan length and the airtime tariff differ. Our table adds the upfront cost, the handset instalments and the airtime instalments so you can rank them by total cost.

Google also sells Pixels outright with trade-in credit. Compare that against a contract plus a cheap SIM-only plan before you commit.

Why people choose a Pixel

Pixel phones are known for photography and for long software support — recent models are promised many years of updates, which keeps a cheaper model usable for longer than many rivals.

Storage is fixed, so decide between 128GB and 256GB honestly: photos and video fill the smaller option quickly, and it cannot be upgraded later.

Before you sign a Pixel contract

Expect a credit check, and check whether the handset and airtime are separate agreements so you know what your bill should drop to once the device is paid off. Ask for the early-termination figure and any mid-contract rise in writing.

CompareDirect lists advertised terms from the network's own pages and links you there to buy. We are not a credit broker or lender.

Frequently asked questions

Which Pixel is best value on contract?

Rank the totals in the table above. In our snapshot a Pro model with a short device plan and cheap airtime can beat a plain model with a longer, pricier airtime tariff.

Are Pixels cheaper than iPhones?

Usually at equivalent ages — the entry Pixel often costs less than the equivalent iPhone, and Google promises long software support, which protects the resale value.

Can I buy a Pixel outright instead?

Yes, and with Google trade-in credit that route is often cheaper than a contract over two years, especially when paired with a SIM-only plan.

Does a Pixel contract include 5G?

Most current Pixel plans include 5G access, but the airtime tariff decides it. Check the plan summary rather than the handset page.

What happens when the device plan ends?

Your monthly cost should fall to the airtime rate. That is the point to move to a cheaper SIM-only deal if you are not upgrading.
